51 Pontiac Chieftain Deluxe. Straight 8 engine, Hydromatic, Radio, Heater, 83000 miles. Bodywork was completed about 8 years ago, and the car has been garaged since then. To my knowledge, the engine has not been rebuilt. It runs fine, but does have some blow-by. Had the starter rebuilt with high torque field coils. The engine cranks much faster now. This should help starting when the engine is hot. A recent mini-tornado came through and destroyed the garage, causing about $500-$600 in damages to the right front fender when a tree removed the back corner of the garage. This damage has not been repaired - a word of advice - HOMEOWNER'S INSURANCE WILL NOT COVER A CAR STORED IN YOUR GARAGE.. I have purchased a rust-free replacement fender, but it has not been installed. It is a 49 fender, so the trim holes may have to be welded shut & re-drilled. Otherwise it is the same fender. The gas pickup line in the fuel tank most likely has a hole in it. When you go up a steep hill, it runs out of gas. I've installed a 6-volt electric fuel pump to aid starting after the car has been sitting for a long period. The bumpers that are on the car were purchased as "temporary replacements" and the front bumper does not fit properly, as you can see. I have the originals, but they need to be replated. The interior is pretty good. New carpet (back), rubber mat (front), headliner, and NOS seat covers. The door panels are in the trunk, and need to be re-covered. The dash and all metal trim inside was repainted when the car was painted.
